This is creepy, but true! It's not exactly the meanest thing said about the cotton candy-haired pop-rapper, but Reddit still gives Minaj the best review ever when they compare her to Jay-Z.
What do you get when you let a Redditor use slow motion? The best thing ever!
Most things said about Nicki Minaj are matters of opinion. It's not exactly a lie to say that her hair looks like cotton candy, her make-up makes her resemble the monkey from Lion King , or that her voice is obnoxious. Some people would argue that those are facts, but they're all just opinions.
Want to know a juicy fact about Nicki Minaj?
Reddit says that if you slow down Nicki Minaj, she sounds like Jay-Z. Listen...
There are so many incredibly disturbing things about this that must be shared. First, if you listen to the lyrics: This version of Jay-Z is gay, hitting on a dude... and not at all gangster. Second, we're 90 percent sure the video's photo is of Jay-Z photoshopped to make him look like a drag queen.
Once you digest that, think about these questions:
Has Beyonce heard this? Will this change how she feels about him? That sounds silly, but haven't we all been in a relationship where one really strange thing about the person can suddenly kill the attraction?
What happens if, one day while they're in the kitchen together, Jay needs to squeeze by Ms. Bootylicious and says, "Excuse me?"
What if all Beyonce can think is, "You're a helluva guy?" And then the image of dragged-out Jay flashes before her eyes. Then it never leaves! Blue Ivy will never have siblings. Beyonce's next album will sound like it's written by Adele. Jay-Z will become angry and actually begin acting like a gangster, and not a super-rich guy in a Yankees hat!
It's too much to take. We'll leave you with this: For those too lazy to click the link, so far, all attempts to speed up Jay-Z and make him sound like Nicki Minaj have been unsuccessful. There's still some hope for Beyonce & Jay-Z.
An alpha woman, like an alpha male, leads and has command of every facet of her life. She has a successful and often powerful career, a solid marriage, is an exemplary mother and has an appropriate outfit and gift for every occasion. Sure, she may be a closet alcoholic, but outwardly she’s got her stuff together. Still, some women take this too far. And here they are…
Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey
This b****-fest got real when these two domineering divas engaged in a textbook power struggle for supremacy. Mariah Carey appears to have a solid marriage, be a good mother and we all know about her stellar career. Nicki doesn't have all of this, but she has notoriety. When this alpha and alpha-wanna-be were both hired as American Idol judges, the feathers started to fly. There was on-camera bickering and physical threats where Nicki told Mariah she’d cut a b****. Okay, she didn’t really say that, but she did threaten Mariah. The point is, both of these women need to step off. We’re over Mariah Carey’s inflated opinion of herself and Nicki is a diva, but she's got a long way to go before she qualifies as an alpha.
Madonna
Yeah, Madonna still has a presence on the scene many, many years later. But she’s also fought tooth and nail to stay there, and has abused her alpha status more than once in the process. On her MDNA tour, a sterilization team had to clean her dressing room after every performance. Is that because she can’t afford to get sick at her advanced age or because she’s an out-of-control diva? Who can forget her hydrangeas hissy fit, where a fan handed her a hydrangea bouquet and after he left she muttered, "I absolutely loathe hydrangeas." Oh yeah, Madonna? Well, we absolutely loathe your fake British accent and misplaced arrogance. We didn’t much care for her sarcastic "apology" on YouTube that ended with "F*** you, I like roses." To which we would respond, "F*** you, Madonna. We like celebrities who are superstars for having a legitimate talent, yet remain humble and gracious."
Beyonce
It is with a heavy heart that we must add Beyonce to a list of alphas who have gone too far. Remember the days when she was just an incredibly talented, beautiful young singer who wasn’t going to "compromise her Christianity?" She was a doll back then. But Beyonce is slowly slipping from a fan favorite to a celebrity whose popularity has gone to her head. Is she taking the lyrics to her Diva tune a bit too seriously? We all remember how put out the other mothers who were trying to have a baby at Lenox Hill were when Beyonce moved in. Ms. B reportedly renovated her room with dark windows and a bullet-proof door to protect her privacy. Neil Coulon, father to premature twins, was not impressed when Beyonce's entourage blocked him from seeing his babies. With rumors of Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles, being a diva by insisting folks call her "Miss Tina," maybe Beyonce is an apple that didn't fall too far from the tree.
Jennifer Lopez
There are alpha females, those who are firing on all cylinders, and then there are those who are just overexposed. Enter Jennifer Lopez. She has a perfume line. She has a clothing line. She was a judge on American Idol . She's a spokesperson for FIAT. She's forever making headlines in her skin-suits. It's okay to be over 40, look great, have a young boyfriend and be successful, but it may be time to employ a little more discretion. J-Lo's marketing strategy is making her a commercial success, but tarnishing her alpha status.

Nicki Minaj opens up about joining the panel of judges on Season 12 of American Idol and her feud with colleague Mariah Carey.
Will appearing as a judge on Season 12 of American Idol make Nicki Minaj"too famous"? That is exactly what the rap sensation is telling The Hollywood Reporter in the Jan. 11 issue's cover story.
The 30-year-old took some time to think about whether to join the famous talent show panel and consulted many of her colleagues.
Minaj says, "I had a lot of talks with people — my family, my best friends, my label, Lil Wayne, management and then the producers."
Her hesitation wasn't over the opportunity itself but the hip-hop community's reaction. She states, "Sometimes you are afraid of being too famous because it's almost, like, is that even cool? Being that accessible, someone you see on TV every week? I never pictured myself as that type of person. I'm still surprised that I decided to do it."
By joining the talent competition, she brings new viewers and new controversy to a series that is beginning to show its age. Early on in the audition rounds, rumors of her on-set spats with fellow judge Mariah Carey made the rounds in the press.
She doesn't reveal much in the interview, but she does say, "Sometimes things get heated for their own reasons. I don't think the panel has an issue."
Her statement certainly downplays any negativity surrounding the two singing moguls, but Carey's husband, Nick Cannon, weighed in on the dueling divas in a Dec. 11 appearance on The Howard Stern Show.
Cannon said, "It's like they had filet mignon and doused it in ketchup.... She [Carey] feels a lot of people led her the wrong way, but I think she's going to make the best of it."
While that quote certainly doesn't flatter Minaj any, it's a sure bet the ratings will see an early spike when the show premieres on FOX on Jan. 16.
Nicki Minaj and Adam Levine are both venturing into retail with their own custom clothing lines.
Have you ever looked at Nicki Minaj's colorful outfits and thought, "Man, what wouldn't I give to dress like her"?
Yeah, we haven't either.
Still, the self-proclaimed black Barbie is coming out with a clothing and accessories line, according to the New York Post. She's not alone: Adam Levine is also set to come out with his own collection.
Where might you find the Minaj and Levine creations? They'll likely land at a mass retailer.
"The Kohl's partnership with Marc [Anthony] and Jennifer [Lopez] has been hugely successful," a retail insider told the Post, adding that the lines will go to stores like Target, Walmart or Kmart.
Celebrity clothing lines are the new celebrity fragrance or nail polish collection — and another way to squeeze every last dollar from fans eager to look like their favorite celebs. And they do bring in the dollars.
The Kardashian sisters sold millions of dollars' worth of clothes, accessories and housewares in their Kardashian Kollection. Bethenny Frankel also sold her line of Skinnygirl cocktails, shapewear and fitness accessories to Beam Inc. for a reported $120 million.
It sounds like Minaj is already on the way.
"Barbz, I am happy to announce that the Pink Friday fragrance was the #1 new launch @ Macy's this past December/Holiday Season =) Thank you!" she tweeted on Monday.
As for her clothing line? She told Rolling Stone that the most important thing is to make it affordable.
"I'm really looking forward to it because I feel like my fans are always asking me, 'Where'd you get this? Where'd you get that?' and sometimes they can't afford certain things, so my biggest goal was to make a line that was going to be affordable to my fans and also rich enough in quality that they'll feel like they're wearing exactly what I'm wearing," she said. "I'm really excited about that."
Will you buy clothes made by Adam Levine and Nicki Minaj?
Barbara Walters and Mariah Carey talk about her feud with fellow American Idol judge Nicki Minaj.
During a recent sit-down with ABC's Barbara Walters, singer Mariah Carey admitted to hiring extra security after her October rumble with fellow American Idol judge Nicki Minaj.
The verbal scuffle was caught on tape and later leaked . In the video, the hip-hop star tells Carey to stop talking to her in such a condescending way or "I'm going to knock you out."
Other reports said Minaj also threatened to use a gun on Carey, America's favorite pop diva.
The incident caused an immediate bump in Carey's security team, the songstress confirmed to Walters.
"I've got two babies," said Carey, reminding Walters of her twins, Moroccan and Monroe. "I'm not going to take any chances. I did hire more security. I felt it was the appropriate thing to do."
The drama has since leveled off to a more tolerable level . Though Carey still felt the need to address it with Walters. She added her sly opinion of Minaj's music after Walters read some of the rapper's lyrics to her, mentioning the part where Minaj refers to a b****. Walters wanted to know if Carey was the "b" Minaj sang about.
"Don't know what she sang," Carey said. "Didn't know she sang, I thought she rapped, or whatever."
Whatever, indeed.
Carey also addressed the hip-hop artist's attitude.
"I think [Idol] is a classic classy show and it didn't need this. I really think it was just a crass moment."
Isn't "crass" what Minaj has been going for all along? Minaj is hardly known for being easy to get along with. She has also "feuded" with rapper Lil' Kim, Rihanna and, apparently, Steven Tyler, another co-worker.
American Idol returns Jan. 16 on Fox. If anyone needs to be wished good luck, it's Minaj's fellow judges.
Nicki Minaj wants fans to know she is not a psycho, and that her feud with Mariah Carey is not quite as unprovoked as the "Butterfly" diva would have the public believe.
Nicki Minaj claims to be over her feud with fellow American Idol judge Mariah Carey, but in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres she sounds more passive-aggressive about it than anything else.
The "Starships" rapper tried to explain that she's not a "crazy psycho" and that she's totally over the silly feud that saw her allegedly threaten Carey, but in her attempt kinda proved that she is crazy and is not actually over it.
Minaj explained to Ellen that the whole thing started because peeps were telling her that her pal Mariah was miffed she was chosen for the American Idol judge's panel.
"…I guess before I went in there I heard all the stuff that was being said but I didn't believe it," Minaj explained. "I heard them saying Mariah doesn't want you on the panel but I was like, no. I am friends with Mariah."
"I was like arguing people down. Like, don't believe everything you read, you're crazy. I went there and I started to feel a bit of the shade. And I just kind of over-compensated by being crazier…"
"If you know someone maybe doesn't like you, it's kind of like, now you're gonna like really go in and show hey, because it's like a defense mechanism. You know what I mean? It's really that. Your feelings are hurt and you can't believe it so you kind of just compensate with being crazy."
However, Minaj insists that the feud is now over, despite the fact that she drove Carey to hire extra security in the wake of alleged threats to shoot her.
"We're fine. I cannot hold a grudge against Mariah Carey. I don't know if she's gotten over it but I have," Minaj said. "I mean, I'm over there cracking up laughing, having fun and if she's still holding a grudge, I don't know. Like, I don't care."
"I am not really a crazy psycho, you guys," she insisted.
We'll see how much of a crazy psycho Minaj may or may not be when the new season of American Idol kicks off Jan. 16.
American Idol did it first, and it did it the best. Since its inception, knockoff programs such as The X Factor, America’s Got Talent, and The Voice have cropped up, hoping to steal the supreme ruler’s crown. With its panel of new judges, can Idol compete? Wednesday night’s Season 12 premiere may have given us a few hints about the show’s longevity… or lack thereof…
Nicki Minaj, the camera hog
As a longtime American Idol fan, I questioned Nicki Minaj’s position on the panel of judges as she is a relative newcomer to the music scene. Her selection feels like a thinly veiled effort to pull in a younger audience.
After watching her on last night’s premiere, I have to say I had a bit of a change of heart. I’ve never really been a fan of Minaj’s, but I appreciated her feedback to the auditions, which were typically in sync with what I was thinking .
I was also taken aback by the amount of heart she showed to contestants. It’s evident that Nicki took the long road to fame and success and she hasn’t been at it so long that she can’t empathize with singers who are trying to make it. As the night wore on however, I became increasingly annoyed that Nicki was the first, and sometimes the only judge with a voice! She monopolized the feedback, leaving the other judges with only enough time to nod in agreement. Personally, I’d like to see the judges do a better job at taking turns to speak first after each audition, so this doesn’t feel like the Nicki Minaj Show.
So where’s the talent? It seems in the early days of American Idol, we saw talent that blew us away. More than once. Granted, Wednesday night was the premiere and there is much more auditioning to take place, but there wasn’t a lot of stand-out, blow-your-mind talent. The noted exception was perhaps the 17-year-old farm girl, Sarah Restuccio who could rap and sing country. She’ll be fun to watch.
As viewers we appreciate the entertainment value tied to the rock-bottom auditions . This is an important element of the show, but I started to almost feel sorry for the judges after a bit, waiting for the knock-your-socks-off talent to provide balance. In a way, I feel like I’m still waiting.
It may take a few more shows for this panel of judges to find the contrast we’ve grown accustomed to on the judges panel. You would think that a rapper, a record-breaking pop star, a country music star, and a record producer would each bring his or her individual and unique taste to the judges panel. During the premiere though, we didn’t see much conflict over talent. We saw plenty of personality conflict between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, but we didn’t see much passionate debate over talent. It may just take a few more airings of American Idol for this missing component to develop.
There are two specific reasons that I, for one, will tune into a few more episodes of American Idol: Ryan Seacrest and Keith Urban. I had a stunning revelation last night and that is I think I may be in love with Seacrest. For the first time last night, he just struck me as that guy who is bumping around his L.A. apartment in his jeans and tennis shoes and gets called to interview someone like Justin Bieber and is like, “Yeah, sure.” He comes off as being laid-back and polite without being phony — very endearing. And I always knew I was in love with Keith Urban. Now if Nicki Minaj can just shut her cake-hole long enough for Keith to say something, I’d be really happy. A little less Nicki, a little more Keith.
In an interview with Ellen, Nicki launched into a convoluted explanation about overcompensating because she had heard, and later felt, that Mariah Carey didn’t like her. So someone doesn’t like you, and you act like a nut-job so they really won’t like you? Nicki’s explanation and her behavior are cray-cray. May it please the court…
Is Nicki putting the "high" in Idol highlights?
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Nicki launched into some convoluted explanation of her nutty antics on Idol that had something to do with overcompensating because she had heard, and later felt, that Mariah Carey didn’t like her. So someone doesn’t like you, and you act like a nut-job so they really won’t like you? Nicki’s explanation and her behavior are cray-cray. May it please the court…
Wardrobe
People like me who only saw images of Nicki Minaj but weren’t overly familiar with her work thought she may be a little left of center. Not to judge on appearances alone, but what is with all those f’d up pantsuits, wonky hats and Strawberry Shortcake wigs? She kind of looks like a demented cupcake.
Then, we got to know her as a judge on American Idol, and kind of grew to like her. So we dismissed the wack-a-doodle wardrobe as artistic expression. Now that we’re getting a taste of Nicki’s unorthodox behavior, perhaps the odd costumes and wigs are a sign of mild dementia. Even Joel Nemoyer, the contestant who laid down to sing his audition, thought Nicki looked like “cotton candy.” If a guy like Joel thinks your outfit is unusual, that might be a sign…
Nicki Minaj is funny! But I’m still trying to figure out if she’s funny in a “great sense of humor” way, or funny in a “nuttier than a squirrel’s breakfast” kind of way. Last night she asked contestant Naomi Morris if she could have her bra. Kind of an odd thing to ask a stranger, but then, Naomi designed it herself and it was really cool.
I'm also still trying to figure out if Nicki crossed a line when she told two-time Idol contestant Candice Glover, “I’m obsessed with you. I want to skin you and eat you.” On one hand, this is the kind of crazy-a** sh** my sister says to make me giggle, but on the other hand, the fictional character Hannibal Lecter lived in a high-security prison with a wire cage on his face so he wouldn’t bite or eat people. If the producers of American Idol really want to make us laugh, they should have Nicki wear a wire cage mask on the next AI.
Oh hell no! Randy Jacksondid not just play the “just trying to help, 30 years, a little insight” trump card when Nicki accused Randy and Mariah Carey of scaring contestants with their labels. And Mariah did not just play the “I’m trying to help her as opposed to just talking about her outfit” card.
Of course I'm referring to the pissing match heard round the world last night after contestant Summer’s audition. You could tell it had been a long day when lovable, mild-mannered, well-behaved Keith Urban got a little b*tchy when Summer said she had “done the country thing.” Keith wasn’t impressed, and for the first time, we saw just a stitch of diva coming from someone other than the girls.
So was it just an extra-long day and Nicki was over it? Or was she annoyed that for the first time she didn’t monopolize the post-audition analysis? We’re sure everyone will issue statements about Wednesday night’s skirmish, and we’re equally sure that Nicki’s explanation will be crazier than her walking off the set.
Tina Fey sparks Mean Girls musical rumors, says Paramount is onboard to bring Mean Girls to Broadway.
Tina Fey did her best to liven up the 2013 SAG Awards on Sunday night — notably, Mean Girls fans perked up when Fey told E! News a Mean Girls musical is in the works. Tina Fey wrote the original screenplay for the 2004 hitwhich starred then-Hollywood darling Lindsay Lohan.
Fey told Giuliana Rancic on the SAG Awards red carpet that she hopes to see a Mean Girls musical come to life. "I'm trying to develop it with my husband, who does all the music for 30 Rock and I think Paramount is onboard." While there is no word yet on potential cast members — Lindsay Lohan likely won't be asked back for the stage adaption — Fey did mention that one particular Mean Girls fan could be a part of the musical: Mariah Carey.
During a recent American Idol episode, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj were arguing over Mean Girls and the names of the characters. Mariah expertly explained to Minaj that the main villain was Regina George. Fey told E! News she was aware of the argument between Carey and Minaj and she thinks Mariah is suited to play Regina George's mother, played by Amy Poehler in the 2004 film. "Maybe she can play Amy Poehler's part in the musical."
While we love the idea of Mariah Carey on the Broadway stage for a Mean Girls adaption, we're not sure about Carey's acting chops — we still have Glitter memories haunting us. What do you think of a Mean Girls musical?
Watch the Mean Girls comment from American Idol below:
The show is in Las Vegas right now, but the judges are having a hard time letting anyone go. Nicki Minaj doesn't want to be the mean one, but knows it's part of her job.
The new season of American Idol has definitely been an interesting one. With three of four judges new to the show, finding their chemistry has been a struggle. Simon Cowell’s particular brand of tough love was one of the things that made the show so successful, and the new judges are learning that.
During the Las Vegas auditions, it seems that each judge has a soft spot in their hearts. In fact, it seems no one would vote anyone off if they weren’t required to.
"I hated it. I really did,"Mariah Carey said of the auditions. "Everybody was talented and different. There were some special people we had to get rid of."
Keith Urban had a particularly hard time getting rid of a contestant he was a fan of.
"I couldn't get enough votes," he told the magazine. "It was just simple as that. We all take turns saying 'yay'[sic] or 'nay' to the girls, and I actually had to say it to the girl I had voted for. That's particularly hard."
He continued by saying that each judge has to work hard to get the support of their fellow judges for the contestants they support, and the discussion "gets impassioned."
"You have [to] re-discuss and re-discuss what is it we're really looking for and what are we basing this decision on,” he added. “Even that is never easy. There is no clear cut decision on that."
The fight for contestants is particularly difficult this year because of the new format of this season, before they even get to Hollywood. The show is in Las Vegas for three weeks, and will be eliminating performers each week.
"This is a different thing than we've ever done," veteran judge Randy Jackson said. "This is 10 sing and five gotta go. This is sudden death."
When there’s an opening on the American Idol judge’s panel, why don’t they get an average Joe to represent the rest of us? We’re the ones who buy the music. Three music industry insiders and one regular guy. With Keith Urban, we get both. He’s an acclaimed music legend with an undeniable realness about him. Here, he gives us an inside peek at being a judge, what a morning with the fam is like, and answers if he and “Nic” will ever do a duet…
So much talent, so little time…
We can only imagine the pressure of the American Idol contestants — what it takes to perform in front of some of the music industry’s most successful people. But what it’s like for the judges? Are they feeling the heat, too?
When Michele Angermiller of Hollywood Reporter pointed out that Keith Urban is extremely honest and fights for his favorite contestants, Keith said, “I’m just like that in life. It’s hard. It’s the four of us up there and if needed, we also had Jimmy Iovine to be tiebreaker. So there’s any amount of people weighing in.
I’m one voice of quite a few and it’s particularly hard if there’s somebody I really like and I vote for them. All it takes is the other three saying, 'No,' and they’re done. There’s nothing I can do. And unfortunately sometimes, I might have to be the person who delivers the news to that specific person as well. So that’s particularly hard for me because I get connected with these artists and I see something in them that I wish got a chance to shine a bit more next week. It’s really disheartening to see them have to go.”
Leave it up to Keith to stay out of any perceived judge controversy. When asked about his relationship with Nicki Minaj, Keith had nothing but good things to say.
“I’d never met Nicki before the show. We flew up to New York the night before the very first day of shooting and we all went to dinner, Ryan, and Nicki and Mariah and myself, Randy. We all went out and that’s the first time I got to meet certainly Mariah and Nicki. I’d met Ryan and Randy before. But the very next day, when we got into shooting, what I really liked about Nicki was just her straight shooting directness. For me, growing up in Australia I like being around people that are just absolutely raw and straight and tell it like it is. So I just kind of clicked with Nicki right from the get go.”
What’s Keith’s secret to getting along with everyone, including Mariah Carey? Keith explained, “I clicked with her the first time I met her. For me, I’ve always found this immediate connection with singers and musicians in general because I’m so used to playing in bands. I’ve been in bands where we’ve had guest artists come up and sing. So for me, when I joined this panel I felt like I just joined a band, you know, I’m on guitar. Randy’s on bass, we’ve got two chick singers and this is our band. That’s what it feels like to me.”
Will Keith and wife Nicole Kidman, who proved she’s got pipes in Moulin Rouge, ever do a duet? Keith doesn’t think so. “I think the only one that you can find is on YouTube when we inducted sort of Simon Baker into the Good Day USA Hall of Fame. We put a little song together and we both sang that for him, but past that, no I think nothing professional. We just enjoy singing at home.”
When asked if Keith’s daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith, have any interest in music, Dad answered, “I don’t know. It certainly won’t be through lack of access to it all. We have instruments around the house and I sit at the piano and play with both the girls. Just this morning I had the music cranked up during breakfast and they would sort of eat a bit and then start dancing around the floor and then go back and eat a bit more and then dance a bit more. I just thought, ‘What an awesome way to start the morning, having a little food and dancing.'”
Every time we turn around, Keith and Nicole are canoodling on the red carpet or playing in the surf. I asked him how he balances concerts tours, appearances, being an Idol judge, husband and dad.
“I like the balance of it. It’s a huge honor that I get to do all of it. That includes being a husband and a father. I feel immensely grateful that I get to do all of these things.
I think like a lot of the times it looks exponentially more — it just looks more from the outside. I think the way it actually works from day to day is navigated a lot more peacefully than I think it would probably appear on the outside. That’s not every day certainly, but most days it’s balanced pretty well.
I have an extraordinary team around me because it really does take a village. I’m certainly not doing everything on my own. I just have tremendous thanks for all the help I have to make all of this happen. And I have an extraordinary wife in Nic who’s an amazing mother. She just does a beautiful job of helping keep it all in balance.”
Nicki Minaj sets the record straight about makeup, plastic surgery and who would win an American Idol judge sing-off in a new interview with Extra.
Nicki Minaj is setting the record straight about plastic surgery and altering her face. On Wednesday, the American Idol judge sat down with Extra reporter Renee Bargh to discuss her latest line with MAC makeup and how contouring her face using makeup creates the illusion of rhinoplasty.
Minaj told Bargh, "When people see my makeup, they think all types of crazy things that I'm doing to my skin, but it's makeup."
She continued, "Look at RuPaul's Drag Race and you'll see how you can make your nose whatever shape you want. I've never had surgery on my face — like God, it's makeup, people."
After having the best-selling VIVA Glam lipstick of all time the first time around, she joined forces again with MAC. Profits from the sale of VIVA Glam go to charity, so she's also helping a good cause. The line benefits anyone living with HIV/AIDS.
The super glam diva is also doing a bit of a "makeunder" in 2013. Her new look is "a bit more grown and sexy and like... less is more."
That also includes her casual days, which the public never sees, but she promised Extra that her off-day look includes "a scarf on my head, T-shirt, UGGs."
Audiences won't be seeing that look on American Idol, but she sure seems to be enjoying her time on the reality show. When asked by Bargh who would win a sing-off, Minaj or Mariah Carey, the "Super Bass" singer had a clever response.
She said, "Oh, I wouldn't sing. I would just stand there and flash my boobs."
Nicki Minaj is making minimal look majorly hot on the latest cover of Elle magazine! Forgoing the crazy wigs and bold makeup, the singer posed for the camera by showing off her massive cleavage in a black leather suit.
Nicki Minaj's Elle magazine cover photo is a feast for the eyes. Get a load of the eccentric singer's simplified, cleavage-baring look!
After denying persistent rumors of plastic surgery, Nicki Minaj chose to sport only a small bit of makeup while posing for the April issue of Elle, available on newsstands Mar 26.
"When I saw myself with barely any makeup, it was such a... like, I'm so, so attached to my pink lipstick, it's hard," the cray-cray American Idol judge admitted. "I feel that it's become a part of me. To go in front of the camera, without pink lips or big ol' crazy lashes — you know, nothing — I felt naked. It was scary! So this photo shoot was a real accomplishment in my eyes."
Sharing her best tips on how to command respect, Nicki Minaj advised fellow females to "treat yourself like a boss" no matter what position you actually hold.
She clarified, "Not arrogant, but be sure of what you want, and don't allow people to run anything for you without your knowledge. You want everyone to know, Okay, I can't play games with her. I have to do right by this woman. That's what it's all about."
"Not arrogant" advise aside, Ms. Minaj has plans for altruistic world domination. She revealed to Elle:
"My goal in the beginning was to buy my mother a house. Now I realize, Okay, if I really focus and become a key player in business, then I can build an empire. I'm thinking of a legacy that I can be proud of and wealth that my grandchildren can use to go to college. So world domination — in terms of providing for my family — is absolutely my goal."
Do you think Nicki Minaj's Elle cover look is an upgrade or downgrade?
The singer shows up late for live taping of American Idol and blames her tardiness on traffic while her co-hosts fume.
Everybody kept smiling under pressure on Wednesday night's American Idol live taping, but you could tell they were massively annoyed at Nicki Minaj for being 13 minutes late.
"We are coming to you live an on time," host Ryan Seacrest said pointedly at the beginning of the show as the audience clapped wildly. "Keep that energy going for three of your four judges that have made it here tonight."
Ouch!
Seacrest then came to sit down in Minaj's prominently empty seat between Keith Urban and Randy Jackson. "This is for Nicki," he said, looking put out. "I hear she's seven minutes out, there's some congestion on the 405" [a freeway in Los Angeles] "she should be here momentarily."
"I thought it was the 101," quips Randy Jackson while Mariah Carey gritted her teeth beside him.
A few minutes later, Minaj appeared, wearing a dressed-down black hoodie and sunglasses instead of her usual glam getup. She missed the first contestant, Curtis Finch, Jr., singing onstage, but he told E! News that she showed up backstage as he was coming off: "It was literally like, step, step, step, curtain, Nicki, and she was like, 'Good job today.' To see her backstage was comforting."
Minaj did deliver one of her trademark odd speeches to Kree Harrison, one of the top ten finalists of this season, saying that Kree's performance made her feel like having waffles. Or maybe that's what she was saying? You be the judge.
